Inspired by the season, today we highlight on the comeback of one surprisingly versatile look that stirs strong opinions from both its admirers and detractors: the MIDI SKIRT.

Midi Skirts is characterized by their length, which can reach anywhere from just below the knee to mid-calve. It was a trend from rolling back to the 1970s. Spotted on many fashion icon from Miranda Kerr to Song of Style, Midi Skirt gives an air of classic elegance and femininity

Before I ventured on Midi Skirts, I too have made a lot of research on how to pull it off carefully and boy there was extremely limited resources on that. So today, I'm gonna make a entry on How to Pull Off Midis Without Looking like a Granny hoping that it'll do some encouragement for you to try out soon!

#1 LESS IS MORE

Now if your midi is the pleated A-line type, then you gotta try having your top slightly body-hugging as this can help proportionate out your figure. If your midi is the pencil skirt type which hugs the booty well, for me it's perfectly pretty to go with a hugging top or not. It work both ways.

#2 BARE YOUR MIDRIFF

Midriff baring has been going on trend & was deemed less skimpy compared to exposing the belly. I always wondered what difference does it make. :O Anyhow, I find the trend appealing and effortlessly chic! For not having the best-toned-abs, I would rather bare the midriff for its lesser visceral fats than the flabby tummy. #confidentpoints

However ladies, if you're more reserved or attending events that requires you to look formal, you can always tuck it in!

#3 HEIGHTEN UP

Because I'm petite, the midi length can overpower my height and expose only the remaining part of my calves. Hence, to avoid me looking stout, wearing Midis with heels is a must for me. However, if you do have a longer torso, you can always place the Midi higher than waist level without compromising your torso length. This way, you'll allow to edge of the skirt to fall comfortably at your knee level and still have the height. For those lucky ladies out there with such figure; you can always pull off midi casually with a sneakers!

#4 DAINTY CLUTCH

Because there is so much going on *down there* ..ahem I meant your bottom. It's going to put on A LOT of weight if you carry a bulky handbag/clutch. So keep the elegance classy and bring out thoseforgotten dainty clucthes you bought sometime ago and never used. It helps proportionate your look without looking too heavy but chic at the same time!

#5 ACCENTUATE THAT WAIST!

I find this important especially for heavy-bottom girls like me ie pear shape/hour glass figure. If you're going for the A-line kind of Midi, do note that you're creating more volume at the bottom. Of course, this is great for girls with flatter/squats-not-working arse as it gives that voluptuous-ity. Nonetheless, proud big butt girls like me; MAKE YOUR WAIST STAND OUT. It's important to balance out that attention on your waist and bum bum.

Bdw guys, I'm NO fashion stylist or anything like that. All the above were written out of love for fashion and is my humble perception based on various inspirational source. Hope you enjoyed reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it!
